Puppet theater founded in 1947 in Bielsko-Biała by the visual artists Jerzy Zitzman and Zenobiusz Zwolski. His seat is the building at ul. A. Mickiewicza 20 in the Lower Suburbs, erected in 1935 as a Jewish cultural center named after Chaim Nachmann Bialik. In the place of the square in front of the theater in the years 1881–1940 a Bielsko synagogue stood. With its performances, the Banialuka Theater has visited dozens of countries around the world, including Japan, Chile and the United States. From 1966, Banialuka is the organizer of the International Festival of Puppetry Arts. In 2007, 13 countries took part in the competition: France, Germany, Iran, Portugal, Slovakia, Italy, the Czech Republic, Serbia, Spain, Austria, Bulgaria, Russia and Poland. The Banialuka Puppet Theater performed outside the competition and presented 3 performances: "Transformation", "Snow Queen" and "Antigone". She also participated in many other theater festivals, including in Edinburgh, Avignon, Cividale del Friuli, New York and Charleville-Mezieres, and reviews where it has been awarded many times. Banialuka also organizes workshops for the youngest and slightly senile audiences, which are run by experienced actors.
