The museum institution provides visitors with exhibitions about the history of the Dąbrowski Basin, archeology, nature, local ethnography and non-European cultures. The museum is located in Dąbrowa Górnicza on the former headquarters of the Mining Board at ul. Legionów Polskich 69. The history of the museum dates back to 1912, when the Geological Museum was founded. Zygmunt Gloger. The first exhibits were collected by mining school students. During World War I, the exhibits were stolen and scattered. After the war, the Geological Museum was organized again in the school building. For many years, the museum was a school museum and didactic institution. It was not until 1997 that a city museum was opened called "Sztygarka". The museum has the following departments: - archeology, - local ethnography, - ethnography and travel, - history, - nature and geology, - Military Park "Reduta".
